Manchester United are prepared to cut their ties with midfielder Paul Pogba and sell the Frenchman in the summer.

The struggling midfielder’s controversial agent, Mino Raiola, confirmed the player was ready to leave Old Trafford in an explosive interview in December, shortly after the club opted to trigger a clause in his deal and extend his deal for a further one year.

After leaving Paul on the bench for their decisive, and ultimately fateful, UCL group stage clash against RB Leipzig, the 27-year-old star has returned to his best form in the latest weeks and helped catapult his side to the brink of the Premier League summit.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to the Mirror, is believed to be delighted with Paul’s attitude and has little doubt over his commitment to the cause.

But with the ex-Juventus star unwilling to sign a fresh long-term deal the club fear they have no option but to cash in on and recoup some of the £89m sum they paid the Serie A champions back in the summer of 2016.

His departure will at least likely be partially offset by the continued brilliance of Bruno Fernandes who has taken on an almost talismanic role since his arrival the previous year.

The Portuguese star proved the matchwinner on New Year’s Day when his penalty secured a 2-1 win against Aston Villa and moved his side level on points with Liverpool at the top.

Bruno has been thrilled with the contribution Pogba has made to United’s recent burst of form and believes the Red Devils are on the brink of building something special.
