Official: Tahith Chong signs new contract with Manchester United.
Tahith Chong has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United, turning down a transfer to Inter Milan after being linked with the Serie A heavyweights and some other European teams for months.
The new contract will keep him at the club until June of 022 and includes an option for an additional year.
In an interview with the Red Devils’ official website, the Netherlands youth international said he believes United presents the best opportunity for Tahith to develop:
“When I joined Manchester United as a youngster, it was a dream come true. It is an honour every time I pull on the shirt and represent this club.
“I am working hard every day to improve and I know this is the perfect environment to develop my game.
“The opportunity to learn from the manager, his coaching staff and the world-class players here is fantastic.
“I am delighted to sign this new contract and really grateful for the chance to prove myself here for many years to come.”
Jesse Lingard is set to be offloaded by Manchester United this summer
esse Lingard is set to be offloaded by Manchester United this summer, with Goal learning that England international has lost the confidence of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Jesse has been relegated to a back-up role since the arrival of Portugal international Bruno Fernandes two months ago while the loan move for Odion Ighalo has given Ole another option across the front three.
That has meant that Jesse is now only considered for less important games, such as last week’s FA Cup fifth-round win against Derby County.
The Englishman has recruited Mino Raiola as his new representative, which has made a move in the next transfer market far more likely.
The 27-year-old star has a contract that runs until June of 2021 and little progress has been made on an extension.
Napoli have found Koulibaly replacement in the Premier League.
Manchester United have received a transfer boost as Napoli eye a replacement for the in-demand Kalidou Koulibaly. The defender has been on Manchester United’s radar for many years and could be on the move in the summer with PSG ready to rival the Premier League side. Napoli want around £100 million for the 28-year-old despite a below par showing thus far this term.
That cash could reportedly be used to sign Nathan Ake away from Bournemouth with the Italian giants tracking the defender.
Ake was linked with a transfer away from the Vitality Stadium in January before staying put, but the star could now be set for pastures new according to AreaNapoli.
