Manchester United are close to finally signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. They failed to lure him last year and it looks highly likely that the deal will be done this time around.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are going to secure terms worth £168million in fee and wages to hire the services of the England international from the German club.

The Red Devils have already agreed a five year contract worth £91million, £350,000-a-week (The Guardian) with the player and the major concern was to reach an agreement over a fee with the Bundesliga side. Now, that is going to be resolved as well.

According to Sky Sports News, the Old Trafford outfit are close to agreeing a fee worth £77million with BvB and are in the process of finalizing the payment structure.

Sancho has been one of the most consistent performers in the German league since leaving Manchester City. The three Lions star has directly contributed in more than 30 goals in each of his last three seasons with Dortmund.

As far as the last campaign is concerned, the 21-year-old directly contributed in no fewer than 36 goals in all competitions (16 goals and 20 assists). He was BvB’s best player in the DFB-Pokal winning campaign.

However, at the European Championships, so far, manager Gareth Southgate has not selected Sancho in his starting XI. In the first game, he was not even part of the squad, in the second fixture, he only warmed the bench and in the last group game, the young winger only featured for 6 odd minutes.

England face Germany in the first knock-out round of the tournament (R16). Will Sancho get the nod to start? Only time will tell. Nevertheless, it seems that this transfer saga, that has dragged on for over a year, is about to finally end. For the latest updates, watch this space.
