Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Portuguese playmaker Bruno Fernandes over a new deal at Old Trafford amid interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old has been a key player for the 20-times English champions since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, founding back of the net 40 times and provided 25 assists in 80 games in all competitions.
Last season, the Portugal international has been in stunning form scoring 28 times and registered 17 assists in 58 appearances at club level, and he still has four years left to run on his deal at Old Trafford.
However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 20-time English champions are currently in talks with Fernandes and his agent over a new deal amid recent reports that Real Madrid and Barcelona are keeping close tabs on his situation.
Romano reports that the Portuguese is expected to be offered a higher salary to reflect his importance to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
Man United are believed to be keen to bring Fernandes’s pay packet in line with the top earners at the team, as Jadon Sancho is set to sign a lucrative long-term contract in the coming days.
