Italy’s Calciomercato brings a report on Manchester United’s young right-back Diogo Dalot, which is based on details from their own sources.

The report begins by mentioning interest from Roma and Fiorentina is genuine, with the Italian duo among a handful of Serie A sides to be linked with the player in the latest months.

The Portuguese spent a loan stint with AC Milan, during which the player was mainly used as a rotation variant and as support on either the right or left.

The view of how well that phase went seems to be promising the longer ago it becomes.

Calciomercato also credit Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid with interest, but the same report adds say the big problem here is the Red Devils now making efforts to extend the player’s contract.

In spite of Dalot not having the same prominence in the latest matches, it’s added the Old Trafford outfit are working to keep him beyond the end of his existing deal, which expires in the summer of 2023.

Regardless of whether the side want to cash in on him or not, a renewal would also help him retain some value in the transfer window.
