According to MEN, Moussa Dembele is open to moving to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has enjoyed an excellent season that saw him net 24 times for Lyon. He scored the winning brace in the French giants’ surprise win over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
The exploit will have earned him a number of fans on the Red side of Manchester. Although he is open to a switch, Dembele is not desperate to quit Lyon. (h/t Sun)
The Frenchman made it to the semifinals of Europe’s top competition where they eventually fell to Bayern Munich. Despite the dream run, Lyon will not be able to repeat their heroics next season.
This is courtesy of them finishing seventh in the Ligue 1 season that was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. Not only did they finish outside a Champions League spot but missed out on Europe altogether.
The Lyon sporting director Juninho also admitted that a number of key players could be on their way out this summer. (h/t Sun)
Signing Dembele would give United another option in the attack. The Frenchman is a clinical striker who knows exactly where the goal is.
Moreover, he will also classify as a homegrown player, having spent his youth at Fulham and Celtic. At 24, he is just entering his prime and can develop further at United. (h/t MEN)
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring in a new striker and Dembele ticks a number of boxes.
In Dembele, we will be securing a player who is already familiar with the demands of English football. The Frenchman has made more than 150 appearances on this side of the Channel for both Fulham and Celtic combined.
