The long-term Manchester United midfield target Ivan Rakitic has revealed that he’s willing to leave Barcelona and make a ‘big change’ in the summer after falling out of favour at the club.
The midfielder’s deal expires at the end of next season and Blaugrana are reportedly ready to cash in on him to avoid losing him for free next year.
Ivan has attracted interest from a number of teams including Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Villarreal, Juventus and Napoli, but Ivan also has admirers in England.
The Red Devils and their league rivals Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keen on the 32-year-old star, who has won 13 trophies since arriving at the Catalan heavyweights in 2014.
Despite his success, Ivan has now admitted that he could quit after being left unsure about where he fits into their plans. ‘When parties sign a contract it is with the idea of fulfilling it,’ Ivan told Spanish radio stations this week.
‘Also with the idea that I want to play, but I am calm about it. I would have liked that at some point someone from the club had come out to say that Rakitic was staying to end the rumours.
‘[President Josep Maria] Bartomeu has not told me anything. Perhaps today he is listening to us and tomorrow he is going to call me. I have never closed the doors to making a big change (in my career).’
Meanwhile, Napoli will allegedly be forced to lower their asking price for in-demand defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Everton are among the clubs monitoring the situation, but Gazzetta dello Sport states that none of the interested parties are willing to meet Partenopei’s price tag.
The club will reportedly be forced to lower their demands, with Kalidou now likely to be available for between £62 million and £72 million.
