Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United have reportedly lodged a €65m (£58m) offer for Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar.

The Red Devils are considering bringing a new centre-half to the club ahead of the 2020-21 campaign in spite of signing the England international Harry Maguire in a world-record deal last year.

Skriniar has long been linked with a transfer away from San Siro, with Manchester City said to be admirers of the 25-year-old, who still has three years left to run on his deal with Antonio Conte’s side.

However, according to Tuttosport, the Red Devils have made a €65m (£58m) offer for the Slovak as the English giants bid to bring him to the PL during this summer’s transfer window.

The report states that Inter wanted €80m (£71.6m) last summer but are no longer in a position to ask for that amount because of the state of the market.

Skriniar has made 36 appearances for his Italian side during the current term, although he has only been involved in one of their last four Serie A games due to suspension.

Meantime, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has conceded that Manchester United target James Rodriguez may have played his final game for the Galacticos following a turbulent campaign.

The South American has stepped out onto the pitch just eight times during the 2019-20 La Liga campaign and has not been in Zidane’s squad for their last two matches.

Speculation has been rife surrounding James’ future following his struggles at the club recently, and when asked in a news conference if the playmaker would pull on a Real Madrid shirt again, Zinedine simply said: “I don’t know.”
