Fiorentina keen to keep Manchester United target Dusan Vlahovic

According to Tuttosport (h/t Express), Fiorentina are pulling out all stops to keep hold of striker Dusan Vlahovic amidst interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.

The 20-year-old Serbian has caught the fancy of both arch-rivals with a number of inspired performances for La Viola. He joined the Italians from Partizan in 2018 and has since made 75 appearances, scoring 21 goals and four assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Fiorentina is currently in a disappointing 14th position in the Italian top flight. The lone bright spot has been Vlahovic. With 13 goals and two assists in 28 appearances, he has really come into his own this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)

The youngster’s potential is now clear for all to see and Fiorentina is keen to keep hold of their prized possession. Club resident Rocco Commisso is set to fly down to Florence from New York to help secure the player’s future at the club. (h/t Express)

La Viola has emerged as a hotspot for emerging Serbian talent. The likes of Stefan Jovetic, Adem Ljajic and Nikola Milenkovic all made a name for themselves in the Serie A. Fiorentina however believes Vlahovic could dwarf them all.

While the former two have called Manchester their home at some point of their career, Milenkovic continues to be linked with a switchto Old Trafford in the summer.

Rather than Fiorentina, the major hurdle in United’s pursuit could come from Liverpool. The Merseysiders have had a difficult season and appear to be looking to rebuild their championship-winning team. (h/t The Express)

While Fiorentina will do all they can to keep their star man, it remains to be seen if the likes of United can present an offer that makes more sense for the youngster.

He remains the centrepiece of La Viola’s plans and the Italians intend to continue building the team around him. With his current deal expiring in 2023, they are keen to protect his value with a bumper release clause. (h/t The Express)
