Exclusive: Spanish giants contact superagent regarding Man United superstar

Barcelona interested in Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba

According to OkDiario (h/t  The Express), Spanish giants Barcelona are interested in securing the services of Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The French international is soon to enter the final year of his contract at United. With his future uncertain, the club may be forced to cash in on him in the summer.

It is not the first time that Barcelona have made a beeline for the 27-year-old. They were linked with him back in 2018 but failed to land him after making a poor offer.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has also approached the player’s agent Mino Raiola regarding a transfer in the summer. The superagent was recently in Barcelona to discuss about Erling Haaland. Whether the discussion regarding Pogba took place during the visit is unknown.

The Catalans are rebuilding after a disappointing season that was capped off with an 8-2 humiliation by Bayern Munich last time around. With Lionel Messi’s future also far from certain, a new look Barcelona team may be in the works.

Laporta has experience of building winning teams and grabbed Ronaldinho at our expensein 2003. Whether he is set to cost us Pogba now remains to be seen.

Barcelona have already approached Raiola regarding Pogba

United for their part are keen to keep the player at Old Trafford. Pogba has developed into a key member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season. He has put up numerous match-winning performances that have seen his stock rise.

The midfielder also played in our 2-0 win over Granada in the Europa League. He lasted 74 minutes before being replaced by Nemanja Matic.

Barcelona could offer players in part exchange to sweeten the deal for Man United to consider. The Red Devils have previously held an interest in the likes of Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and even Antoine Griezmann. (h/t The Express)
