JAMES RODRIGUEZ HAS BEEN URGED TO MAKE THE DEAL WITH UNITED BY MENDES. RODRIGUEZ HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SHINE AT MADRID IN THE NEAR PAST.
The role of James Rodriguez at Real Madrid has been in doubt lately. The Colombian was a super-sub for Los Blancos in his early years. But since Zidane’s reign, he has become more of a bench man. James has lost to achieve a solid role in the squad. Hence, there are hints of the midfielder making an exit.
As per reports from various media, Manchester United have shown their interest in the star. The Sun even report that they could sign him for a cut-price. Which is a good option for all the parties involved. Rodriguez’s representative Jorge Mendes is urging him to take the offer. After the recent happenings, it’s under doubt if he can claim a role under Zidane.
Hence, it would be a wise move for him to accept the deal. Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have also been expressing interest in him. Atletico was very close to signing him last summer as well. But the club president is not so sure about the move now. But there are chances of a £13.4m deal for the attacking midfielder.
Arsenal has also been looking for a replacement for Mesut Ozil. James can be the creative playmaker in Arteta’s midfield. And with the financial issues they face, Gunners will be happy to sign him for a cut-price. Real Madrid are targeting £20m for him but may suffice for a feasible amount. So it’s now upto the player to decide where he has to go. Jorge Mendes will take care of the rest of him.
The 29-year-old is nearing the end of his peak period. He has spent most of his time at Santiago Bernabeu on the bench. This season as well he has just 14 appearances in all matches with 5 in the LaLiga. Considering the talent of the Colombian, he needs to get more time on the field.
In addition to that Zinedine Zidane to have not seen him be in his future plans. Hence, an exit card is on the table and the man will be walking out. With just a year left on his contract, Real are looking to cash him this summer. They won’t be happy for him to leave as a free agent, hence are looking for suitors.
James must make the move as well, in his time in Portugal and France he was able to shine better. Spain has not been a place for him to find his glory. The golden boot of 2014 surely has more value in him. All he needs is a platform to present it. And Real Madrid surely isn’t a place for him. The exit should’ve taken place long ago.
Well, Manchester United does seem to have an interest in the midfielder. But the role for him is already taken at Old Trafford. Rodriguez is comfortable playing as a No.10 behind the striker. United already have Bruno Fernandes as their midfield general to occupy the role. Hence, he will be a rotation man at United as well.
