Manchester United could allegedly allow out-of-favor Axel Tuanzebe to quit the club on loan next season.
The 23-year-old star has made 13 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit during the 2020-21 term, including six in the Premier League, but Axel is down the pecking order when it comes to the centre-half positions.
Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire are all currently ahead of the English star, and the 20-times English champions are widely thought to be in the market for a new centre-back during this summer’s transfer window.
According to a report by ESPN, should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team sign a new defender in the upcoming market then Axel could be allowed to leave United on loan.
The former England U21s international, who has previously spent time on loan at Aston Villa, has a deal at Old Trafford until June 2022, with the option of a further one year.
In other news, Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate, who will have a €45 million (£39m) release clause in his deal during this summer’s transfer window.
According to Bild, the Red Devils are considering an approach for the 21-year-old talent. He has only just returned to action following an ankle injury, which kept Koante out from the middle of December to the start of February.
United had been strongly mentioned with Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano, but Konate’s fellow countryman has agreed to join Bayern Munich after the German giants activated his release clause.
