Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Kieran Tripper, is consistently linked with a move to Manchester United and the latest reports indicate that Atletico could be forced to sell the defender to the Old Trafford outfit this summer.

According to a report covered by Mundo Deportivo today the Rojiblancos want to hold on to the England international and do not have the slightest intention of selling him this summer.

However, the Spanish news source have mentioned that there is uncertainty. It is reported that the consistent efforts of Man Utd and the footballer’s family’s desire to push for a move to England could force the La Liga club to sell the prized asset.

MD mentioned that the likes of Vrsaljko and Arias are there but they are not as important for Diego Simeone at the Wanda Metropolitano as the ex Burnley player.

We already know that the 30-year-old right back is trying hard to agree a move to the Red Devils before the end of this month’s transfer deadline (Sport).

As far as the asking price is concerned, earlier this month, Mundo Deportivo revealed that the Spanish champions will only offload the veteran defender for a fee of £33.9m.

Man Utd would only need to improve the right back position if they opt to offload Dalot, who is currently the second choice RB. In my view, with Wan-Bissaka around, there is no real need to spend heavily for another fullback. Instead, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should focus on bringing in a quality midfielder.
