Manchester United signed a proven quality striker in the form of Edinson Cavani on deadline day but the veteran Uruguayan is a short term fix as he only penned a one year deal with the club.

Therefore, sooner rather than later, the Red Devils should move to sign a top center forward for the long term and they have been backed to sign Harry Kane.

As per Stadium Astro’s Alison Bender, Old Trafford legend Paul Scholes has backed Man United to secure the signing of a quality striker instead of moving for Dortmund winger Jadon Sanho.

Bender claimed:

“Scholes tells me he wants Kane or Haaland, forget Sancho, he’s not the position they need. We also chatted a lot about defenders.”

Our focus is on the Tottenham Hotspur star, who has been linked with Manchester United for quite some time. Back in April, The Mail claimed that Kane was open to moving to the 20-time English champions but Spurs slapped a mammoth price tag of £200million on him.

The 27-year-old star has proved his worth in the Premier League by consistently scoring for Spurs and it will be fair to say that Jose Mourinho would not let him leave easily.

Kane has won two Golden Boot awards in the Premier League, he also won the Golden Boot prize at the 2018 World Cup and was the top scorer in England’s Euro 2021 qualification campaign.

As far as this season is concerned, the £200,000-a-week striker (The Sun) has been in world class form. In all competitions, so far, he has made 8 appearances for the north London club and directly contributed in 15 goals (8 goals and 7 assists).

The domestic transfer window is open till Friday evening but I do not think there is enough time to secure the deal. Do you think Man United should move to lure him next year?
