Manchester United are reportedly pushing ahead with their interest in Liga NOS giants Porto ace Alex Telles.
The left-back, who has also been mentioned with Chelsea recently, is one of Porto’s best players and a summer move is expected on the back of a remarkable individual season.
Alex played 49 times in the 2019/20 campaign with a stunning return of 13 goals and 12 assists, and the Dragons are reportedly set to demand around £27 million if they are to sell him.
A Portuguese outlet Correio de Manha say the Red Devils will ‘advance’ to sign Telles having enjoyed great success with their last acquisition from Portugal – Bruno Fernandes, who arrived from Porto’s league rivals Sporting CP in January and has been an important player in the months since.
Chelsea are understood to similarly hold interest in the Brazilian, having been chasing him since last year.
Reports in March stated they were handed a huge boost in the race to land the 27-year-old as he had rejected a contract offer from the club.
Frank Lampard wants to bring a new left-back to the club as he is unconvinced by incumbents Emerson and Marcos Alonso.
Ben Chilwell is understood to be his prime target, though Frank also likes Sergio Reguilon of Real Madrid and the aforementioned Telles.
Man United, meantime, boast Luke Shaw as their senior left-back, though ace Brandon Williams enjoyed a breakthrough term and recently penned a new four-year contract with further senior team chances expected next term.
