Dortmund chief sets deadline for Man United to complete Sancho transfer
As reported by the Daily Star, Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc has set a deadline for Manchester United to complete the signing of primary transfer target Jadon Sancho.
It is no secret that the 20-year-old Sancho is being chased fervently by Manchester United. The England international is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s primary transfer target heading into the next season.
However, negotiations between two clubs haven’t been progressing well, with the transfer fee being a major bone of contention.
Recent reports had claimed that Dortmund were willing to accept an initial offer of £60m, with the total financial package expected to rise to £100m.
However, Dortmund chief Zorc has denied any such developments. In addition, he has warned Manchester United that they have till August 10 to complete the deal, post which the club will not entertain any offers as the squad returns to training. (h/t Daily Star)
“There is no room for negotiation, 120 million Euros is the only acceptable fee. Dortmund start their training camp in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, on Aug 10, there will be no sale after that date.”
This is not a positive development in the club’s pursuit of Sancho. The 20-year-old, without a doubt, would elevate our attacking department to a whole new level should he arrive in the summer.
But with Dortmund insisting on getting the deal over the line in less than ten days, the club will need to act swiftly now or risk missing out on another top target. Hopefully Ed Woodward & co. are able to get this over the line at the earliest.
