Red Devils are reportedly among the clubs eyeing up a possible transfer swoop for Monaco youngster Benoit Badiashile. Man United are alongside Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen as suitors for the talented youngster, who is currently captain of the French Under-19 side.

Monaco have only rejected a bid from Rennes of nearly €15m for U19 France international, but it could be that they’ll be faced with more offers from other top clubs.

Man United are mentioned as being in the running for the centre-back’s signature, and it looks clear he could be a great fit in this exciting young side Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is putting together at Theatre of Dreams.

Benoit already seems set to make an impact in the Red Devils first-team, with the team arguably in need of more depth at the back alongside first-choice defender Harry Maguire.

The likes of Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have not done enough to impress for some time now, and that might mean the French centre-back could be fast-tracked into becoming a regular starter.

Red Devils have a proud history of bringing through footballers from their academy, and they’ve also done some good recruitment of top teenagers in the transfer market in recent times.

The 19-year-old centre-back has emerged as a regular fixture for Monaco since his debut in 2018, with Benoit turning out 20 times across all tournaments for the French club before the Ligue 1 campaign was curtailed.

The 19-year-old centre-back is under contract at Monaco until 2024, though, and Les Monegasques have supposedly already rejected a €15m offer for Badiashile from fellow Ligue 1 side Rennes.
