Few days back, we covered a report (via The Express) claiming that £80million rated Jack Grealish has moved a step closer to signing for Manchester United after finding a house.

More recently, former Aston Villa and Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has claimed that the Villa captain is going to sign for the Red Devils in the summer transfer window.

The 51-year-old told the Premier League Productions (via The Metro):

“I think Jack Grealish is a deal which is already done. He’s a player that they [Manchester United] need.”

“I honestly believe there’s only one club for Jack Grealish. I don’t think he can stay at Aston Villa, he needs to progress his career. I think he signs for Manchester United.”

The 24-year-old attacker is heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford and as per The Sun, Ed Woodward is willing to agree a deal worth £150,000-a-week to secure his signing.

We have already talked about the player’s stats and performances in the previoud post (link provided above). It would be intriguing to see where he will play if he does end up signing for Man United.

Naturally, Grealish is a central attacking midfielder but this season, Dean Smith has mostly deployed him on the left flank and he has excelled. At Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes is the main CAM and Rashford is the first choice left winger. The duo are absolutely irreplaceable in Solskjaer’s starting lineup.

The Norwegian manager has not been able to reinforce the midfield department since his arrival and the good thing is that the Birmingham born attacker can effectively play in the center of the park as well.

Villa are still in the relegation zone and next up, they will face newly crowned champions Liverpool at Anfield. The Merseysiders have won every single league game at home this term.
