Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur may be set for a fierce battle over Norwich City full-back Max Aarons, according to reports.

The 21-year-old right-back has enjoyed a stellar campaign with the Canaries, starting all 28 of their EFL Championship fixtures. Max has helped the East Anglian side to the top of the standings.

They’re looking for an immediate return to the division after finishing bottom of the Premier League in the 2019/20 term and the signs are good in spite of a run of three matches without a win.

Max played every minute of 36 league matches last term. He was powerless to prevent relegation but made an impression in a busy Norwich City rearguard.

The England youth international seems to have caught the eye of Red Devils chief Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to The Express.

It seems as though the Norwegian manager wants a fresh face in to provide competition for first-choice Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The arrival of the Brazil international Alex Telles seems to have given Luke Shaw a boost to step up his game at left-back and the hope is that Max could do the same with Wan-Bissaka.

That may well spell the end of the line for defender Diogo Dalot. The ace is on loan with Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan after failing to make the grade at United.

Aarons has impressed enough at the Carrow Road side to be linked with Spanish giants Barcelona.

Back in last year’s September, it seemed as though he was set to pen a long-term deal at the Camp Nou.
