Man United leading race to sign €35m-rated English playmaker

Aston Villa star Conor Hourihane says it’s ‘only a matter of time’ before Jack Grealish earns himself a big move as he believes the playmaker is ‘too good’ for the Villans.

U21 England international was having an outstanding individual season as captain of struggling Aston Villa before the covid19 pandemic brought English football to a halt last month, racking up seven goals and six assists in the Premier League.

The Norwegian manager has identified Jack as one of his top targets, and Red Devils are expected to press ahead with a move to add the attacker amid executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward warning supporters that it may not be ‘business as usual’ this year due to the current financial uncertainty throughout football.

Villa and Republic of Ireland footballer Conor has not been surprised by the intense speculation surrounding Jack’s future and admits his sought-after team-mate may have outgrown the team. ‘Jack’s top, top class. In terms of pure ability and sheer skill and technique level he’s easily the best footballer I’ve played with to date,’ Hourihane said.

‘He’s just got that gift. Jack runs quicker with the ball when he faces someone up you’re in real trouble. Jack’s skipping by the best footballers in this league so easily. Grealish’s developed over the three years I’ve been here he’s taken his game to a new level especially this year in the Premier League.

‘He’s taken it by storm. You know England team and getting that big move is just a matter of time because, if I’m being brutally honest, Jack’s too good for our club at Aston Villa.’
