Man United learn how much they will have to pay for 20-goal Brazilian star

According to a report from the Mirror, Benfica have told Manchester United that they will not sell star striker Carlos Vinicius for anything less than his €100m release clause.

The 25-year-old striker joined Benfica last summer from Serie A side Napoli in a £15m deal. And he has been in brilliant form over the course of the 2019/20 campaign for the Portuguese heavyweights.

So far this term, Vinicius has bagged 20 goals and assisted 12 in 36 matches across all competitions. This has led to interest from Manchester United, along with our Premier League rivals Wolves. (h/t Mirror)

Now, Benfica have informed Manchester United that they will only sell their ace striker if his €100m release clause is met.

In Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, we have two brilliant, young forwards, who have been in top form this season. Academy ace Mason Greenwood has enjoyed a fine breakthrough campaign as well.

Odion Ighalo has made quite the impression since arriving on loan in the January transfer window. However, the Nigerian is set to be recalled by parent club Shanghai Shenhua, with the Chinese Super League likely to start in the coming weeks.

Hence, bringing in a new striker in the summer would make sense for our club. While Vinicius is in top form, paying such a huge amount for him at a time when we are also planning to sign the likes of Jadon Sancho wouldn’t be feasible.
