Manchester United continue to be linked with Saul Niguez and the latest reports going on in Britain are interesting.

According to an exclusive article covered by The Sun, Man United would be willing to pay a fee worth £70million to sign the Spanish international. It is mentioned that the Red Devils have made Atletico clear that they will not pay more than the mentioned sum.

Two weeks ago, a similar sort of story was covered by renowned Spanish outlet AS who stated that United would like to offer 80 million euros (£70million) to lure the 25-year-old midfielder to replace none other than the club’s record signing, Paul Labile Pogba.

As far as the wages are concerned, the La Roja star currently earns £115,000-a-week with the Rajoblancos and Man United prepare to offer him a £200,000-a-week deal i.e. a 74% pay rise to get his signing done in the summer (The Sun).

Saul has been highly impressive for Atletico under the management of Diego Simeone. The versatile Spaniard is naturally a central midfielder but the Argentine boss has utilized him as a winger, a central attacking midfielder and also as a left back if needed.

The 19-capped international has got a fantastic left foot and can strike the ball from distance. He can also beat opponents with his brilliant dribbling skills. Remember his solo goal against Bayern Munich that knocked Pep Guardiola’s team out of the Champions League (Youtube).

Man United do need creativity and quality in the center of the park and Saul Niguez has been consistently good for the Spanish club unlike Pogba, who has been highly inconsistent at Old Trafford.

The French international has not been able to put in world class performances on regular basis and that is one of the main reasons why we have not been able to perform at the optimum level.

Moreover, the Les Bleus midfielder has missed majority of the current campaign due to injury, on the other hand Niguez is one of the most fittest players around (Transfermarkt). We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
