Manchester United are allegedly ‘in contact’ with Ferran Torres’s entourage as the club attempt to secure a summer deal for Valencia forward.

Torres has been in stunning form for Los Che during the 2019-20 season, scoring six times and registering seven assists in 35 games in all competitions.

The 20-year-old’s deal at the Mestalla is due to expire next year, though, and a number of clubs, including the Red Devils, have been linked with his services over the last few weeks.

According to CalcioNapoli24, the 20-time English champions are currently in talks with the youngster’s representatives with the view to wrapping up a deal.

The report, though, states that Manchester City, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also firmly in the hunt for the versatile attacker.

Torres has netted four times in 25 La Liga outings this campaign, while he has also managed two goals and two assists in six UCL appearances during the 2019-20 term.

In other news, Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala has confirmed that he came close to signing for Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur last year.

Speaking to CNN, he said: “It was more or less last year at this point when Juventus didn’t want to count on me, didn’t want me to continue playing here.

“That’s when I was contacted and there were some clubs that were interested in me. Among those were Manchester United and Tottenham. I think for a long time there were conversations, then Paris Saint-Germain also appeared.

“I did not speak directly to any of them, but there were conversations with the clubs. However, my intention at the time was to stay.”
