Manchester United are reportedly preparing to offer attacker Marcus Rashford a huge new deal, with his wages increasing to £300,000 per week.
The 23-year-old Englishman has been in good form for the Red Devils this campaign, scoring 12 goals across all competitions and continuing to establish himself as a key part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
The England forward only signed a fresh contract in July last year, which runs until 2023 with the Red Devils having the option to extend for another year.
However, Marcus’ form has been such that the club want to persuade Rashford to pen a brand new five-year deal that will be worth around £300,000 per week, reports the Daily Star.
Executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is optimistic the forward will commit to the club and Woodward wants to get the deal done before the European Championships next year.
He is set to be a big part of England head coach Gareth Southgate’s plans next summer and United want to ensure his long-term future is tied up before then.
He’ll be competing with the likes of Harry Kane, Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling for a place in England’s front line, but with 11 goals in 40 caps to his name, Rashford will be confident of featuring regularly.
For just 23 years old, Marcus has accrued a wealth of experience for club and country, netting 79 goals in 234 games for his side and is on course for his most prolific campaign so far.
