West Ham United and England star Declan Rice would be a ‘great addition’ to the Manchester United roster, thinks former Red Devils star Alan Smith.
The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with a transfer away from the Hammers for the last couple of seasons, with the Old Trafford club and Chelsea seen as potential destinations.
The talent has already racked up over 100 Premier League games for West Ham and picked up 13 England caps, gaining a remarkable amount of experience for such a tender age.
Alan is a big fan of the defensive midfielder, who can also perform at centre-back, and feels his defensive intellect makes him stand out from others in his position.
‘I like Declan Rice as a player and I think he would be a great addition – and is a British-based player, which obviously helps,’ Alan told American Gambler of Declan being linked with Manchester United.
‘I think he’s one that is a bit more old school than a lot of defensive midfield players are now.’
Elsewhere, Juventus are reportedly wiling to offer Paulo Dybala to Manchester United in a bid to lure Paul Pogba to Turin.
With Pogba’s entourage Mino Raiola admitting that the French star’s career at Old Trafford is “over”, the Old Lady are regarded as the favourites to sign their former player next year.
Mino has conceded that a move in the summer transfer market is more likely than a January exit.
But Bianconeri are reportedly still concerned that they wouldn’t be able to fund a straight-cash deal for Paul in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to ESPN, Paulo is therefore one player who could be offered to UNited in an exchange for Pogba, with the South American struggling to nail down a regular spot in Andrea Pirlo’s starting eleven.
