Real Madrid could allegedly lose Manchester United targets Sergio Ramos and Lucas Vazquez on free transfers in the summer as renewal talks for the duo are at a standstill.
Sergio remains an inspirational figure for the Galacticos, while Vazquez has also been an important player for Zinedine Zidane’s side this term, contributing two goals and four assists in 23 matches in all competitions.
They are out of contract at the end of June, though, meaning that both are currently free to discuss terms with foreign sides, including the Red Devils, over moves this summer.
According to Marca, Sergio and Lucas have already turned down proposals from the Spanish champions, and there hasn’t been any movement since the rejections.
The club’s finances have been hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak, and the ongoing pandemic is reportedly making it difficult for the club to negotiate new contracts.
United were linked with a swoop for Lucas Vazquez back in December. The prospect of landing a proven, versatile player for nothing is not something to be ignored.
The English star Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the first-choice right-back at Old Trafford. Signing Lucas will not just give United more strength in depth but also a different dimension to that offered by Aaron.
They also want 34-year-old centre-half to help get the best from Harry Maguire, the world’s most expensive defender.
Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof have been the players partnering the international this term, but United could turn to the Spanish legend to help the former Leicester City man into the world-class bracket.
