Since the start of the Pedro Goncalves saga, the transfer rumours have been made of comings and goings between the Portuguese and the English media.

There is another episode as outlet A Bola responds to the stories which have been out last week.

Following reports that Manchester United are keen on signing Pedro from Sporting this summer, the newspaper features a short article saying it will not be cheap to take him away from Alvalade.

A Bola writes that they have no intention of letting Pedro go in the next transfer market, and that means that any interested team will have to trigger his €60m exit clause to get him.

This is information which had been previously stated by the newspaper Record, so it is getting pretty clear that the word in Portugal is that Goncalves’ exit is not something they are looking to negotiate.

Basically, the warning means talks should be rather straightforward: either the Red Devils put up €60 million or they don’t get the player.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Lee Grant is allegedly expected to be handed a fresh contract at Manchester United.

The veteran shot-stopper has made just two appearances for his side since his arrival back in 2018, both of which have come in cup competitions.

In spite of there being no prospect of Lee breaking into the senior team picture on a regular basis, the Daily Star reports that the former Derby County and Burnley man is likely to extend his stay at United.

The report states that that Grant is in line to become a player-coach at Old Trafford, providing that he doesn’t choose to leave the Premier League heavyweights in the summer.
