Manchester United have been looking to sign a winger for a long time but so far, they have failed this summer.
They have been consistently linked with Jadon Sancho but his high asking price of £108million (The Mail) has not been met as yet and with time running out in the transfer martket, the Red Devils are looking at other options.
If reports in the media are anything to go by (FussballTransfers) then the Old Trafford outfit have made contact with Inter Milan to hire the services of Ivan Perisic.
The news source have revealed that the likes of Leicester and Everton are also interested in the Crotian international but above all, Man Utd want to sign a winger and after failing to lure Sancho and Bale, Perisic could fill the void.
Last season, the 31-year-old played on loan for Bayern Munich and won the treble with the German side, who wanted to make his move permanent.
However, FT claim that they were not willing to meet the Nerazzurri’s asking price of 15 million euros (£13.7million).
Perisic started 19 games in all competitions for the Bavarians last term and directly contributed in 18 goals (8 goals and 10 assists).
He has played 90 games for the senior national side thus far and was a key part of the squad that won the silver medal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The winger has got ample experience under his belt and he is a top quality star.
However, signing him will only be a short term fix for the Red Devils. The former Dortmund attacker will turn 32 in February. Solskjaer has himself admitted that the transfer window has not been ideal (ESPN) and the fans must be frustrated. Have your say – Should Man Utd move in to sign Ivan Perisic?
