AC Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu is out of contract with the Rossoneri at the end of the season.
This has seen the attacking midfielder linked with several European sides, including Manchester United.
At the start of December, Sky Deutschland reported the Old Trafford outfit have held ‘several conversations’ about landing the former Bayer Leverkusen man, but the Red Devils are ‘not yet close’ to securing his signature.
According to a recent report from Pianeta Milan, there is a small chance for the playmaker to sign an extension with the Serie A heavyweights because there is ‘too much distance’ between the two sides.
Manchester United are mentioned as a suitor, along with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. It’s claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and the other two sides are ‘interested in acquiring’ his services on a free transfer next summer.
The report adds it is difficult to see Hakan leaving Milan in January unless the Premier League club or other suitors decide to pay the €20-25m sum requested by Stefano Pioli’s side.
Hakan is likely to leave his side as a free agent next summer. Therefore, Milan have already started looking for a successor and identified the La Liga giants Real Madrid’s Isco as a potential target.
With the 20-times English champions named as one of the interested parties, it remains to be seen where Hakan will play next season.
The technically gifted player has five goals and four assists across all competitions for his side this season.
