Man Utd Offer already submitted, £9million more could get signing done

Manchester United are heavily linked with Douglas Costa and the latest reports suggest that the Red Devils have already submitted an offer for the Brazilian international.According to a report covered by Corriere dello Sport today, it is claimed that Man Utd have already moved in with an offer worth 30 million euros (£27million) for the Samba star but the bid was rejected by Juventus.

The famous Italian outlet have claimed that the South American attacker is worth 22 million euros and The Old Lady think that it is logical to demand 40 million euros (£36million) from his departure. So, if reports are to be believed then Man Utd could get the signing done if they add £9million more to their initial offer of £27million.

The question is, should Solskajer meet the asking price to secure the signature of Douglas Costa?Under the management of Pep Guardiola, the 29-year-old was a key member of the Bayern Munich squad but things have not been the same in Turin. In the presence of other star attackers, he has not been able to start regularly. In his first season in Italy, the Brazilian only started 18 games in the Serie A.Moreover, in the last two seasons, Costa has been highly injury prone. In the 2018-19 campaign, he missed 25 games in all competitions due to various fitness concerns.

On the other hand, last season, the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger missed 21 games due to injury (Transfermarkt). Therefore, in all fairness, Solskjaer should not splash £36million for someone who has mostly been on the treatment table in the last couple of years and will turn 30 in less than a month.
