Manchester United have been interested in David Brooks for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that the Red Devils are perhaps clear to secure his signing.

According to MEN, Leicester City’s have shifted their interest elsewhere and therefore, the path to sign the Welsh international may have cleared for the Old Trafford club.

The renowned outlet have talked about a valuation of £40million but earlier this month, The Sun exclusively reported that the Cherries will only part ways with their winger if their huge price tag of £50million is met.

In the 2018-19 campaign, the 23-year-old made 30 appearances under Eddie Howe in the Premier League and diretly contributed in 12 goals (Transfermarkt).

Brooks was able to provide an assist vs Manchester United at Old Trafford but the Cherries lost the fixture.

He spent majority of the last season on the sidelines due to an ankle injury and only made 8 appearances in the PL, scored just one goal. As far as this season is concerned, so far, the youngster has played 3 games for Bournemouth but is yet to find the net.

Old Trafford legend, Ryan Giggs, who is the coach of the national Welsh side, is a huge admirer of Brooks. He praised the attacker and stated (via MEN):

“Brooksy’s obviously a talented player and now Bournemouth are in the Championship. I’ve always said it’s better if the lads are playing, and the higher the standard the better as well. But that isn’t always a given.”

So far, the winger has played 12 games for his country and most recently, he featured for 76 minutes in the 1-0 victory against Bulgaria in the UEFA Nations League.
