Premier League giants, Manchester United could reportedly make a move for Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres this summer.

The 20-times English champions are allegedly in the market for a new defender following to the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, the later one is likely to make a return to AS Roma where he has spent last campaign on loan.

RB Leipzig’s centre-back Dayot Upamecano has been rumoured with a move to Old Trafford, but it is believed that the Frenchman won’t be joining the 20-times English champions before the October deadline.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils could consider a move for Spanish defender Pau Torres in the coming weeks.

The 23-year-old enjoyed an stunning 2019-20 season for the Yellow Submarine, managing to found back of the net twice and providing two assists in 36 games in all competitions.

The Spain international, who has also previously been rumoured with Chelsea, Barcelona and Man City is believed to have a €50m (£45.6m) release clause in his current contract at Estadio de la Ceramica.

The Red Devils are due to start their 2020-21 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace on September 19.
