Chelsea and Man Utd would reportedly have to come up with an offer of ‘more than £70m’ to secure the services of West Ham United’s Declan Rice this summer transfer window.

The West London club are allegedly keen to re-sign Rice ahead of the 2020-21 season, with head coach Frank Lampard allegedly viewing him as the ideal player to operate in the middle of a back three next season, while Ole Gunnar Solskajer has identified him as a perfect replacement to Nemanja Matic.

A recent report claimed that Frank Lampard’ side were lining up a £45m offer, however, according to the Evening Standard, the London giants would have to bid in excess of £70m in order to convince the Hammers to sell their star player.

Rice, who turned out for the West London club as a youth player between 2006 and 2014, has managed to provide two assists in 32 Premier League games for David Moyes’s side during the current campaign.

The Hammers are in a fine position when it comes to negotiations, meanwhile, as they have the holding defensive-minded midfielder on a contract until June 2024, with the option of a 12-month extension.

Despite linked with a move for Rice, Man Utd have extended contract for Scott McTominay while they have been in talks with the agent of Fred.
