Chelsea reportedly joined Man Utd and Real Madrid in the race to sign Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and have made an approach for his services ahead of the next season.

During his five-year spell with Italian giants, the Serbia international has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe, resulting in rumours regarding a move to Manchester United.

However, while the 20-times English champions are now well stocked for options in central midfield, it appears that the 25-year-old prefers to join another team.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation ahead of possibly making a formal offer for his signature.

While the Blues have funds available from the sale of Eden Hazard, Los Blancos would likely have to make a number of sales in order to lure Sergej Milinkovic-Savic away from Stadio Olimpico.

The Serbian midfielder, who could cost in the region of £80m, has four years left before his current deal expires in the summer of 2024.

Another Serie A star Frederico Chiesa has been also rumoured with a switch to Premier League as both Man Utd and Chelsea are keen on to lure him away from Artemio Franchi Stadium ahead of the next season.
