Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov has warned Timo Werner off a move to Liverpool this summer, opening the door for the Red Devils to complete a deal.
United made the huge mistake during the summer transfer window and let Romelu Lukaku leave the club without going out and spending some serious money to try and bring in a replacement for the Belgian powerhouse.
However, despite all the speculation and rumours suggesting that United were keen to nail down a move for Werner during the January window, the Red Devils could nowt manage to secure a deal for the young German, and he decided to stay put for now.
That means that Liverpool may be able to reignite their interest in the young man when the summer window opens up, as reports have revealed that he is interested in a move to Anfield, and Jurgen Klopp may be keen to improve his attack and give his side that extra edge against their rivals.
However, Berbatov has come out and told the young hitman that he should not make the move to Liverpool, as he may struggle to even get some game time with the front three that Klopp already has, he told Betfair: “It makes more sense for Werner to go to Bayern than England where it will take him more time to adjust.
“I don’t think Liverpool will miss out if he doesn’t move, their front three are so good.
“I don’t see many players coming close to them, the way they link up, the way they switch positions is phenomenal.
“It’s hard to see someone else fitting in the way they do.”
Werner is a man in demand, and rightly so, he is a goal-scoring machine that is going to be one of the best strikers in the game so it will be very interesting to see just where he ends up and if he actually leaves Leipzig this summer.
