Manchester United could make second summer signing in £20m valued center-back

According to Goal, Manchester United are battling West Ham for the signature of Swansea City center-back Joe Rodon.

Joe Rodon has had a couple of good seasons for Swansea City, which have earned him links with West Ham, and Manchester City.

Rodon is a young defender who looks like he has got his basic principles right. He is blessed with exceptional ball-playing abilities and hisis towering frame helps him dominate in the air.

His playing style has been likened to John Stones.

Joe Rodon has also been backed to be better than Manchester United captain Harry Maguire. This comes from his former Welsh teammate Nathan Blake.

Blake spoke to the MEN and had this to say:  “He’s what you call a leader of men with that aggression, he leads by example. Good passer on the ball, young, reads the game, he’s got all the attributes.”

He added:  “You don’t get a big move to sit on the bench, you get a big move to play,” he warned, amid Rodon links to top clubs. “But I think Rodon has the potential to be a better player than Harry Maguire.

“Rodon to United right-sided centre-back with Wan-Bissaka outside him? I think that would be a fantastic little partnership.”

United are battling West Ham for his signature right now.

David Moyes needs a center-back at the London club. He has turned to Rodon after having multiple bids rejected for Burnley defender James Tarkowski.

United are in dire need of a center-back too. Their current pairing is leaking too many goals. United captain Harry Maguire needs a capable partner to maintain a stable defense. The club has have already been beaten to Gabriel by Arsenal.

He is valued at a fee of £20million by Swansea city.
