Manchester United are understood to hold no interest in signing Declan Rice from West Ham United when the transfer window reopens this summer.

A recent report from The Sun claimed that the Hammers have been hampered financially by the coronavirus pandemic and the likes of United and Chelsea could be offered the chance to sign Rice for £70m.

However, according to Manchester Evening News, it is reported that the Red Devils no longer consider Rice as one of their main targets, having decided against pursuing a defensive midfielder.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had been keen on landing a holding midfielder last summer but he was unable to do so after the majority of the budget was spent on Harry Maguire’s record signing from Leicester City.

The form of Nemanja Matic and Fred has been particularly pleasing during the second half of the current campaign and it is reported that Solskjaer is satisfied with the options at hand.
