Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is close to landing Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek for £40million.
Van De Beek has become one of the most sought after midfielders in the game over the past few months after helping Ajax become a big force in Europe again, but he has been keen to make that move away and play for one of the biggest clubs in the game.
It was widely believed that he would be heading to Real Madrid this summer, as they were reportedly leading the chase to get the player signed up in a deal that would cost the club £40 million.
Barcelona were also linked with a move for the player, as New Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman knows him well from his time in charge of the national team — but is not currently planning a move with the financial strain on LaLiga clubs.
That means that United have had a clear run to try and get a deal done, and according to reports on the Sky Sports website, the Red Devils have now agreed to sign the Dutchman for £40 million
It is believed that he will complete his medical this week, so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can integrate him into the side before the Premier League season starts up in just a few weeks time.
Look, if reports are true and United have signed the Beek man, then he is a top-class attacker that will add a few more goals to the side, and that is what the Red Devils need in the side this summer.
