Manchester United are reportedly set to battle with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain for procuring the signature of Romain Faivre who is currently on the books of French side Brest.

The 22-year-old has been earning rave reviews for his performances in Ligue 1 and his recent displays are said to have caught the attention of some of the top European clubs.

He has smashed four goals and created three assists in 19 top-flight appearances so far this season, helping his side to climb up to 11th at the table.

The talented midfielder popped up a winner against his former side Monaco in October, while he also proved himself greatly useful against Lyon, scoring an equalizer in injury time to earn his side a point at Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

The French footballer hit the ground running for the Pirates after they spent around £450,000 to bring him to Stade Francis-Le Ble last summer, and now to keep him from interested clubs, he has been given a new contract which will keep him in Brest until 2025.

According to Le10Sports, several top European clubs are interested to secure his signature, including Manchester United and PSG.

The Red Devils recently completed the signing of Amad Diallo from Italian club Atalanta in a deal worth £37million, and so the Old Trafford hierarchy might not sanction a move for the 22-year-old at the moment.
