Manchester United will reportedly focus on landing the signature of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund following the recent extension of Odion Ighalo’s loan deal.

The Nigerian was initially expected to leave the Red Devils at the end of the month but the club were able to negotiate a seven-month extension on the temporary deal with Shanghai Shenhua.

With Ighalo’s stay, the club are unlikely to pursue a new striker during the summer and the emphasis could now lie on landing the services of Sancho, who continues to remain the club’s prime summer target.

According to Evening Standard, the Mancunian giants are likely to step up their interest in the England international, now that they have resolved the situation of Ighalo at the club.

Dortmund have clearly mentioned that Sancho won’t come on the cheap this summer and reports have claimed that they will demand at least £100m regardless of the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

United recently took a £140m loan from the credit facility at the Bank of America and that is expected to aid the pursuit of their targets during the next transfer window.

Sancho has bagged 17 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga this term. He bagged a hat-trick in the club’s 6-1 thrashing of Paderborn on the road last weekend.
