Manchester United have been linked with several proven quality stars lately but now a young starlet is in the focus as well.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Manchester United are ready to steal the signing of 16-year-old Joe Hugill from under the nose of former boss and current Spurs manager Jose Mourinho.

The British source claim that the north Londoners were in pole position to hire the services of the young striker but United are ready to take advantage of the delay caused by the lockdown and they are prepared to make a move to hijack the deal.

Hugill made four appearances in the U-18 Premier League for Sunderland in the 2019-20 campaign and scored one goal.

Moreover, he made three appearances in the Premier League 2 and scored two goals this term. Unfortunately, on every single occasion, the Black Cats ended up losing the game (Transfermarkt).

Not much is known about the teenage forward for now but the fact that two Premier League clubs are linked with him indicates that the boy is talented.

What we do know is that Manchester United need to sign a proven quality out and out striker. Why? because our current CF, Martial, is naturally a winger. Moreover, veteran Odion Ighalo is not an adequate replacement for 26-year-old Romelu Lukaku, who was sold to Inter last year.
