Lyon are ready to cash in on Manchester United target Houssem Aouar this summer and want £44.5million for their star playmaker, according to reports.

After being nurtured by the club’s famous academy — which has been responsible for producing some of Europe’s current top players including Alexandre Lacazette, Karim Benzema, and Corentin Tolisso — Aoaur started to realize the value of his ability, and n 2015, aged 17, he made his first appearance for Lyon B.

In the 2017-2018 season, in the absence of Tolisso who had just moved to Bayern Munich, he made 31 starts in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, scoring seven goals and producing six assists — and the following season, his stock further increased as he made 44 appearances, scored seven goals, and made seven assists.

His performances have caught the attentions of some of the biggest clubs in the game, with the likes of United and Juventus reportedly leading the chase to sign the very talented young man in the summer.

Now reports on the RMC Sport website have claimed that there is a number of clubs interested in the man, and Lyon will allow him to leave in the summer transfer window if the £44.5 million asking price is met.

Lyon after chief Jean-Michel Aulas recently claimed that they would sell the rising ace for the right price, but is also hopeful that he stays put when the transfer window opens up.

‘The player’s opinion is always essential. Keeping a player against their will is not reasonable,’ he told the club website.

‘Houssem has not expressed the desire to leave. ‘Our will is to try to keep him even if the demands are high. There is no negotiation in progress.’

Look, United may be in need of adding to the squad in the summer, but is this lad the right kind of statement to send to the rest of the Premier League?

The lad is talented and will develop into a top-class player over the next few seasons, but right now he is not the type of player that Manchester United need to improve the side.
