Manchester United’s highly-rated winger Kirsty Hanson has signed a new one-year deal with the club according to reports on The Red Devils’ official website.

While the player’s extension is initially for just 12 months, United will have the option to extend her deal for a further year.

The 22-year-old former United academy star returned to the club in 2018 and has since gone on to feature 42 times for the club while scoring eight goals. United will be delighted to re-sign the winger as she has the ability to change a game and always makes an impact. Hanson is comfortable on either flank and possesses pace to rival that of any defender in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, whilst she also boasts great skill and trickery. The Scottish international, who previously featured at Sheffield FC and Doncaster Rovers Belles, has a keen eye for a pinpoint pass or cross which has helped her provide countless assists for her teammates.

Hanson has expressed her excitement at signing a new deal at the Leigh Sports Village. She told the club’s official media channels “I’m really looking forward to next season.

“I just want to be back out on the pitch playing the game that I love.”

Manchester United manager Casey Stoney has hailed Hanson’s contribution to the team over the last two years and she is looking forward to seeing the player continue to develop on and off the pitch with the club.
