The Red Devils reportedly face being stuck in a tough situation as it’s claimed that Alexis Sanchez is ready to be an unwanted man this summer. Chile international joined Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal last summer, but he has been limited to only 15 matches so far this campaign due to injury issues.

While Alexis has bagged a goal and three assists in those outings, it has been suggested that it may not be enough to convince the Nerazzurri to turn his loan spell into a permanent move.

Neither Inter Milan nor Man United want Sanchez, and it’s suggested that the forward will have to train away from the senior team at Carrington if he were to return this summer.

It’s noted that the Norwegian manager is eager to avoid any negativity and distractions around his young team as he builds a long-term plan at Theatre of Dreams and so while that could address the footballing aspect of the 31-year-old winger’s future, it doesn’t cover the financial problem.

The report notes that the Chilean forward earns a staggering £505,000-a-week on his current contract which runs until 2022, and it’s either going to strike the Red Devils in the pocket to agree on a premature exit or to continue to pay his wages if they can’t offload Sanchez.

It could be argued that given the impact of the covid19 crisis which could limit spending for teams this year who have faced a major revenue hit during the lockdown, it could be in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s interests to bring Alexis back and try to get the best out of him if they can’t spend big on another player.
