Manchester United have reportedly handed a boost in their pursuit of West Ham United defender Issa Diop.

The Red Devils are looking to bolster their defence this summer with a centre-back their main priority, potentially as a replacement for the Sweden international Victor Lindelof.

That has led to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being linked with several players, including the Hammers star.

And now it appears the club have been given the green light by the 23-year-old defender’s employers to make their move.

That is according to Sky Sports, who reports the Hammers are ready to cash in on the French talent.

Having saved the club from relegation, manager David Moyes is looking to rebuild the West Ham roster.

It is reported that his side are “willing to listen to offers of £45m” for Issa.

United were first linked with a move a year ago but were put off the £75 million valuation.

It is now believed that at least two other PL clubs want to sign him.

Diop is also looking to depart the London Stadium. He earns less than half of most other senior team regulars at West Ham.

And the report adds that “a fresh start at a new club would bring a big increase on his £50,000 a week wages” is what he’s looking for.

In other news, the England international Jadon Sancho’s salary expectations could allegedly see the Borussia Dortmund attacker miss out on a transfer to Manchester United this summer.
