Last month, The Express covered a story and stated that Man United could move to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, who want £23million from the sale of their winger.

If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then super agent Jorge Mendes is pushing the £250,000-a-week (The Sun) playmaker to sign for Manchester United.

According to an update coming from Spain (La 2 Orillas via Mundo Deportivo) Rodriguez’s rep, Mendes, is pushing his client to accept the offer presented by Manchester United.

The news source have mentioned that the La Liga champions are looking to get 30 million euros to sell the South American star.

As per recent reports, the 29-year-old is also linked with a move to Altetico Madrid but their president have claimed that he has no idea whether the former Monaco attacker would sign for the Rojiblancos (via ES).

Rodriguez is a versatile talent, who can effectively play anywhere in the attacking third. He was a superstar in Portugal and France but since moving to the Bernabeu, he has mainly been a bench warmer, especially under Zinedine Zidane.

In the recently concluded La Liga campaign, the 76-capped international only started 5 games and in all competitions, so far, he has only played 14 games this term. Therefore, the playmaker definitely needs to leave the Los Blancos to play regular first team football.

Naturally, Rodriguez plays in the No.10 role behind the main center forward and at Old Trafford, that role is being played by Seleccao superstar Bruno Fernandes, who is absolutely irreplaceable in the starting XI.

In all fairness, the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner has been highly inconsistent in the last few seasons and he is past his best. Therefore, United should look elsewhere to strengthen their offense in the summer transfer window
