Alexis Sanchez is ready to be offered a new escape route out of Old Trafford, with Roma keen on taking him on loan next campaign. Red Devils chiefs are keen to offload the expensive flop but are struggling to find a buyer, largely due to his extortionate £500,000-a-week pay packet.

Chile international, formerly of Arsenal and Barcelona, has had an injury-hit campaign on loan with the Nerazzurri goal, scoring only one goal in 15 games in all tournaments. Inter Milan are unlikely to extend his stay at the San Siro and given the covid19 crisis, it was thought he might even end up staying at Man United.

But Giallorossi are willing to take the opportunity on Alexis and bring him back to Serie A for another campaign. Red Devils relationship with the Serie A giants has been strengthened by Chris Smalling heading on loan to the Stadio Olimpico this campaign.

Gunners Henrikh Mkhitaryan has also spent a year with the Italian side, and they are considering making his loan permanent in a £22m deal. However, Mkhitaryan has opened the door to a return to the Emirates under new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, which could see Alexis head to Rome instead.

Roma have impressive consequences in the Serie A this campaign as they are in a fifth place in the table. Giallorossi added several players during the summer transfer window like Pau Lopez from Real Betis, Gianluca Mancini from Atalanta, Jordan Veretout from Fiorentina, Amadou Diawara from Napoli and Leonardo Spinazzoal from Juventus.
