Ajax boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly taking English lessons amid speculation of a possible summer move to Manchester United.
The 20-time English giants have announced that a “thorough” search is underway to bring in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s successor, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick will move into a consultancy role in the summer.
Erik and Paris Saint-Germain leader Mauricio Pochettino are said to be the two favourites for the job, while a short-term swoop for Real Madrid chief Carlo Ancelotti has also been considered.
According to the Daily Mail, the Dutchman is now fine-tuning his English skills should a transfer to Old Trafford come to fruition this summer, with his long-term future at de Joden looking more uncertain.
The report also says that the Eredivisie outfit are aware of the 52-year-old tactician’s intentions to depart the club ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, and a proposed switch to Tottenham Hotspur last year collapsed because of his poor English skills.
He has won two league titles and two KNVB-Beker crowns during his spell as Ajax leader, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the 2018-19 UCL.
Ten Hag – who has won 150 of his 202 matches in charge of the club – is rumoured to have his heart set on a move to the PL with the Red Devils.
