TRANSFER BATTLE: Manchester United and Man City both negotiating to sign youngster – Serious battle on for deal, talks ongoing

When Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick emerged in January, playing in an U20 tournament at the age of 15, the Brazilian club felt like they’d have him for few years until he got a move to Europe.

The teenager has been linked to several big sides in the past couple of months, including Manchester City and Manchester United, and it became obvious that there’ll be a battle to take him from South America as soon as he turns 18.

However, in an update shared by journalist Jorge Nicola, it’s now claimed that European sides are already in talks to sign him as soon as possible.

The report claims Endrick will soon be signing his first professional contract with Palmeiras. Even though he could leave for free, his father wants to show their gratitude for the club, and should agree the new deal in July, when the winger turns 16.

But that’s also when the talks for his departure will start. Nicola claims the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City and Manchester United are ‘all keeping an eye and negotiating, especially, with Endrick’s staff’.

There’s an obvious issue there, as the player is supposed to only move from his country once he turns 18. Nicola, however, claims that “in case the club finds work for the family and formalise another situation, that becomes viable”. That’s what European clubs are said to be trying to do, even though we’d have to wait and see if FIFA would allow that.

The story claims offers should get to Palmeiras in the coming days, and Endrick should leave for more than €30m.

Manchester United and Manchester City face a battle to secure him, not least against each other.
