Man United are interested in a deal for Issahaku Fatawu and could raid Sporting to snatch the attacker from their grasp. Ghana international has been on the radar of several big European teams. Despite spending upwards of £200m in the summer, goals have not come easily as the Red Devils have struggled to convert their chances.

The Dutch manager has been chasing a serious goal poacher, and thus agreeing to a deal for Fatawu does not fit their criteria. But the Red Devils are famous for producing homegrown talents year after year, and Issahaku could follow suit.

The likes of Pellistri and Diallo have had very little playing time. But the management has ensured their development is on the right path by handing them loan moves since their arrival at Man United. The 18-year-old attacker joined Sporting’s academy back in April this year and burst onto the first-team scene through his rapid progress.

The Ghanaian attacker has not made the headlines yet, but there is promise in his game, and Man United want to utilise his potential. The African winger is unlikely to get a first-team place and will have to go through a rigorous training process.

And the Ghanaian will only start getting minutes under his belt if he fits in the mould of Erik ten Hag. The former TUFA winger has already made it to the senior Ghana team and has earned 12 caps for his country.
